Police Department incorporates new phone service to enhance department’s response.

The phone number for the Newberry Township Police Department remains the same. We can be reached at (717)-938-2608.

When calling this number, select Option #1 to reach our Emergency and Non-Emergency dispatchers at the York County Communications Center. This option is for any situation in which you would need to speak to an officer that is on duty to assist you or you can always dial 911.

  • Option #2 will be answered by The Newberry Township Police Department Administrative Assistants during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM). If  the Administrative Assistant cannot pick up, or it is after hours, the line it will go to the auto attendant and allow the caller to select an officer or staff member to leave a message with.

  • Option #3 transfers your phone call directly to the Newberry Township’s Administrative offices which are available Monday through Friday 0800 AM- 4:30 PM. You can also contact them directly at 717-938-6992.

  • Option #4 will provide the caller a list of all officers employed by the Newberry Township Police Department. This option also allows you to select an officer and leave them a voice message.

This change was instituted in response to residents who expressed various concerns when attempting to contact the Police Department during different times of the day or night. The implementation allows the residents the ability to directly leave a message for the officer. The voice mail message is then sent directly to the officer’s e-mail which they can access in their patrol vehicles. Additionally, the change also saves the residents money.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the Newberry Township at police@newberrypd.org
