The Newberry Township Police Department has one Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle that we utilize for patrol. Several of the officers are certified to be Motor Cycle officers and we have found the motorcycle to be an effective method to conduct regular patrol as well as community service events. The motorcycles are often used during funerals and escorts due to their unique appearance and capability of negotiating through traffic. The motorcycle has also allowed us to save fuel with rising prices on the horizon; it may become more utilized for patrol and other activities.
